26th Amendment in Constitution- The 26th amendment in the 1973 constitution of Pakistan is considered as landmark achievement by Government of Pakistan. This 26th amendment is mostly relevant to the judiciary of Pakistan. It appointment and services rules are amended in this amendment.

The 26th Amendment Major Changes:
The major changes or amendments brought through the 26th amendment are as follows:
- First of all, government has takes it off the Suo moto power of chief justice of Pakistan.
- secondly, the chief justice of Pakistan will be appointed by Prime Minister of Pakistan among the top three most senior judges of supreme court of Pakistan.
- Thirdly, the age of supreme court chief justice will be 65 for serving in supreme court. And term period of chief justice will also be for three years. But if chief justice is appointed at any age before attaining the age of 65. He/She will complete his/her tenure of 3 years.
- Most of the clauses of this 26th amendment in constitution of Pakistan 1973 are regarding Article 175A. It deals with the appointment and procedure of judges of supreme court, Federal Shariat Court and High Courts.
- One of the major clauses is the formation of constitutional benches at the Supreme court of Pakistan.
- Similarly, there shall be constituted the constitutional benches at high courts.
- Furthermore, the evaluation of supreme court judges and high court judges will be determined by chief justice of Pakistan and provincial chief justice of relevant high court respectively.
- Most importantly, the Riba (interest) will be eliminated across Pakistan up till January 1, 2028. Previously, there was clause that efforts should be made to eliminate interest from Pakistan.
- More interestingly, clean and neat environment should be provided to all the citizens of Pakistan.
