Rishabh Pant Injury – Rishabh Pant is the international level Indian Cricket Palayer. Recently, his injury on knee has created some difficulties for him. Rishabh Pant has not participated in the ongoing Test match in Bengaluru after sustaining a blow to his right knee while keeping wickets on the second day, which was essentially the first day of play due to weather delays.
Moreover, alternatively Dhruv Jurel took over the wicketkeeping responsibilities for the rest of New Zealand’s first innings. However, Pant did engage in a brief throwdown session during the tea break on the third day. It shows that injury is not of a kind of serious nature.

Rishabh Pant Injury in Test Match
India went into tea at 57 for no loss in their second innings, having begun with a significant deficit of 356 runs. Pant is expected to bat if needed, which seems likely given the match situation.
During tea break, Pant stepped out near the boundary by the pavilion, wearing only one pad on his uninjured right knee, although he appeared to be limping slightly. He connected well with the ball during his session, monitored closely by batting coach Abhishek Nayar.
In this way, after the interval of almost 15 minutes, Pant entered in the crowed with some demo aerial shots to check the stamina to stay behind the wickets.
Rohit Sharma mentioned the previous evening that Pant was experiencing some swelling in the injured area, and the team preferred to err on the side of caution, particularly since Pant had previously recovered from serious knee injuries sustained in a car crash in December 2022. A BCCI statement on the third morning noted, “The BCCI medical team is monitoring his progress.”
Pant was injured during the 37th over of New Zealand’s innings while attempting to stump Devon Conway off Ravindra Jadeja. He failed to gather the ball, which struck his knee, prompting him to leave the field immediately, with Jurel stepping in as his replacement.
“Unfortunately, the ball hit directly on his kneecap, the same leg that underwent surgery. He has some swelling there,” Rohit explained after the day’s play. “The muscles are quite tender at this point, so it’s a precautionary measure. We don’t want to take any risks, and Rishabh feels the same, considering the serious surgery he’s had on that leg.” Pant made his comeback to cricket only in IPL 2024 after the life-threatening injuries from the crash.
